Hello there, my name is Sinta Billington. I'm Indonesian, but i live in the UK since i've got married with my husband David. since then i discover more ingredients of food and how to cook ala western food.
Thank goodness my husband enjoying Asian food. There are some fruits that he doesn't want to eat it anymore such as Durian and Jack fruit. Maybe some of you doesn't like it too..^_*
Some receipes of my food i put it on this blog, but some don't because sometimes i forgoten to take a picture of it and sometimes i forgot to write it down.
Anyway, if you want to try some of my home made food. You more than welcome to try them...Good Luck!! ^_^

Appetiser and Salad


Talking about salads in our balcony's corner remind me to upload my Appetiser menu. Here it is you can check them out.
They are easy and very quick.



Salads dressing :

•1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
•1 1/2 cups olive oil
•4 garlic cloves, halved
•2 teaspoons salt
•1/2 teaspoon black pepper
•1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Mix all ingredients in a large jar. Cover and shake until well blended. Store in refrigerator.

Plate up with half avocado and olive oil.



When Asparagus season coming. It's nice to have grill Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce and home grown salads.

How to grill Asparagus :

Clean the Asparagus stem and grill on the very hot metal pan. When it's finish plate up with salads, Hollandaise sauce, black pepper and little pinch of salt.

Grilled Sardine Follow by Cheese and Biscuit neebles






Last weekend we went to Brighton beach for a walk and we decided to visit a fresh fish shop by the shore ham harbour, and this is the website for you to take a look http://www.brighton-fish-sales.co.uk/

We was trying to figure out what are we going to have for dinner, and we bought 6 sardine and 4 oysters it cost us £3.60 which is good.
On the way home we know what we want to have for dinner which is picnic type of food. So we stopped by to Odd bins it just 500 meters from our flat. Dave bought a red wine (Wine is not my cup of tea, i would like to have mix juice with lemon and mints)

When we get back we opened the oysters and pour a little bit of lemon juice and eat them straight away!!! I only have the picture of the shells now...Doh!!

Anyway, here it is our picnic menu.

Grilled Sardine with home grown salad.

How to cook :
Clean the fish and season them with black paper and lemon juice, and grilled them for 5-8 minutes or more *depend how you want it.

And then Plate up with home grown salad season it again with olive oil, black pepper and a little pinch of salt.

Followed by :
Cheese and Biscuit nibbles. And movie on Sky HD

Drinks :
Dave's drink : Red wine from Odd bins
My drink : Mix juice (Pineapple, oranges, cranberry) with slice of lime and mints

Nibbles :
Blue cheese,Salary,Crackers,Black seedless grapes, and Taramosalata (fish roe dip)

What a nice relaxing time...^_^

Pan Fried Duck, Crush New Potato, Steam Bok Choy with Vinaigrette Marsala


Two days a go Dave bought Duck from France they are cheap and taste so good!!!
I wonder what can we do with those duck, and in the end Dave decided to cook it on his own way. That's make me relieved to not getting stress what should i do with those fatty duck fillets...LOL.. Anyway, there's recipe i want to share from Dave experience.

Ingredients :
Duck
Salt and Pepper (for rubbing the duck)
2 table spoon full of Marsala
1 table spoon of Butter

How to cook :
Clean the duck and dry it with kitchen towel,scratch the duck skin with knive and season them with salt and paper.

Meanwhile :
Clean new potato and boil them in a pan, On top of the pan use steamer for the vegetables (you can put any vege you would like to have).

When the potato 3/4 ready :
Put non stick pan on a fire with a little amount of butter,when the butter ready, chuck the duck on the pan and turn it over when the meat changing colour.
It can be done about 10-15 minutes.
When its done put it a side.
*Do not turn the fire off (need to used it for the gravy)
Drain new potato and crush them.

Vinaigrette Marsala (Gravy) :
Used the duck fat, Pour Marsala (it can make a fire on top of the pan *don't be panic!! Its cool!!).
When it's 3-5 minutes reduce, turn the fire off. And you can start serving!!!

Spaghetti with Home made Pesto and Home grown Salads


Bahan untuk membikin Pesto :

1 Genggam penuh Daun Basil
1/4 Cup Pine nuts
1/2 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
3 Bawang Putih
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
1 Sdm air jeruk lemon *boleh pakai dan boleh tidak

Cara membikin pesto :
Blend semua bahan, dan rasakan jika ada sesuatu yang kurang bisa ditambahkan dan di blend kembali. Kemudian dimasukkan kedalam Jar, dan bisa disimpan didalam lemari es.

Cara membuat :
1. Rebus Spaghetti hingga masak, campur dengan 1 sendok makan Pesto dan sedikit olive oil.
2. Nikmati dengan salads atau grilled tomatto.

Gulai Kambing


Bahan Bahan:

250 Gram Daging Kambing
* Potong potong dan taburi Merica hitam, sedikit garam, dan 1 Sdm Air jeruk nipis

15 Butir Kentang kecil
* Dicuci bersih dan tusuk tusuk pakai garpu agar kuah gulai merasuk ke kentang

500 Santan kental
Air secukupnya
Kaldu Kambing * Boleh pakai boleh juga tidak tergantung selera

Bumbu Halus:

2 Buah Cabai merah besar
5 Siung Bawang merah
3 Siung Bawang putih
1 Buah Tomat
4 Buah Kapulaga
1 Sdt Pala bubuk
1 Sdt Kunyit
1 Sdt Jinten
1 Ruas Jahe

Bumbu yang lain :
10 Buah Cengkeh
2 Batang Kayu manis
1 Buah Bintang Adas *Star Anise
1-2 Batang Serai *tergantung ukurannya
2 Ruas Lengkuas
1 Buah Asam Kandis
3 Lembar Daun jeruk
2 Lembar Daun Salam
Gula dan Garam secukupnya

Cara memasak :

1. Panaskan Panci dengan sedikit minyak.
2. Masukkan bumbu halus dan bumbu lainnya hingga harum.
3. Masukkan Daging dan Kentang, Aduk hingga merata.
4. Apabila daging berubah warna, masukkan sedikit air hingga agak mendidih.
5. Tambahkan Santan, aduk aduk hingga matang. (Jangan sampai santannya pecah)

Tips :
Boleh menggunakan Oven pada suhu 200'Celsius atau Gas 5
